M16 - The Eagle Nebula and Pillars of Creation
M16, the Eagle Nebula, rendered from more than 53 hours of Hα, O III, S II, and RGB data collected with an Astro-Physics 175 mm refractor. The familiar Pillars of Creation lie within a much larger landscape of ionized gas and obscuring dust. A restrained SHO palette separates the cool O III-rich central cavity from the warmer surrounding emission, while natural-color RGB stars preserve the appearance of the stellar field.
